The Dixie Chicks Are Back After 14 Years, With A New Name
21 July 2020 - 16 minsThe band formerly known as the Dixie Chicks are back with a new album, and a new name, after 14 years.
Gaslighter is the first release from The Chicks, as they are now called, since 2006. They were boycotted by radio stations in the United States after criticising George W. Bush during a concert in 2003.
They announced their name change last month, admitting that they were uncomfortable with the slavery-era connotations of the word 'Dixie'.
Paddy Cullivan and Dee Reddy discussed this and more in our weekly music slot.
