This week, Snapchat's parent company, Snap, settled a social media addiction case days beforeit was due to go to court. The 19-year-old woman who was the plaintiff in the case alleges that social media platform algorithms left her addicted and affected her mental health. Other defendants in the case, including Instagram parent Meta and ByteDance's TikTok, are still set to go to court.
