6 December 2024 - 14 minsMurder accused Michael Andrecut has asked the Special Criminal Court if he can argue provocation as a partial defence to the charge against him relating to the death of steakhouse gunman Tristan Sherry.
Sherry was killed after he assassinated Jason Hennessy Snr at a Blanchardstown restaurant on Christmas Eve last year.
Andrecut who is 23 is one of a group of young men before the court accused of overpowering and killing the gunman immediately after the shooting.

Young mum left lying on roadside after savage attack in Tipperary
A woman left in a critical condition after being assaulted in Co Tipperary has been named locally as Scarlett Faulkner - a mother of one in her 20s. Shocking video footage of the aftermath of the attack was shared on social media as cars drove by and witnessed her lying on a roadside in broad daylight.
