The Department of Health has launched a new 10-year national sexual health strategy to tackle the rising of sexually transmitted infections among young people in Ireland. While there has been an increase of at home STI testing, there are still a number of issues in the treatment of STI across the country. Among those are staff shortages, clinic closures and long waiting lists.
