Now before email and social media, ‘the letter from America’ was part of every Irish household who had relatives who emigrated to the States.
A Letter Home: Irish Correspondence from America, 1818–1972, by Author and Established Professor of Modern Irish History at the University of Galway Breandán Mac Suibhne, takes a closer look at these letters, who wrote them and what exactly they say.
Breandán joined Ciara to discuss.
