There were 35 arson attacks on council homes in Dublin alone last year. 

It’s used as a means of intimidating people but is “traumatising” communities and costing local authorities millions of euro.  Figures obtained by The Irish Times indicate these attacks, usually related to drug debt intimidation or gang feuding, are increasing across the country
