For decades, María Elena Arrieta de Blaquier, an Argentinian heiress, owned a vast collection of rare and expensive art. She has since died, and the art is going up for sale.
Van Gogh’s ‘Châtaigniers en Fleurs’ (Chestnut Tree in flower) is valued at $180m and has not been seen in public for decades. It is to be auctioned along with 11 other works.
