Large Hadron Collider to be shut down next week for 4 years
16 June - 10 minsThe Large Hadron Collider will be switched off on June 29th for a refurb. This marks the beginning of "Long Shutdown 3," a major 4-year hiatus dedicated to dismantling parts of the CERN ring to upgrade it into the much more powerful High-Luminosity LHC.
