Father of innocent gun victim calls on football club to pay debts

More than three years after her husband Joe Grogan died of cancer, Lisa Flaherty looks set to finally inherit his €5.5million estate. Last summer’s inquest into Mr Grogan’s death grabbed headlines across the country when the validity of his marriage was called into question by lawyers acting on several of his cousins’ behalf. Lisa Flaherty was quizzed about the history of her relationship with the man she married on the day before he died and questions were raised about the quality of his care during his final weeks. However, friends and neighbours rallied to Ms Flaherty’s support, insisting that the Offaly landowner always intended to look after the woman he’d been involved with, on and off, for more than three decades. This week, a prominent lawyer has said they object to the administration of Mr Grogan’s estate and is willing to go to the High Court.
