NEW EPISODE: Sir Derek Jacobi

Without Oz Clarke there might not be a White Wine Question Time. Is possible we'd have called this podcast Gin & Tonic Question Time (Coming soon to a podcast platform near you!) It's absolutely fair to say that Oz, alongside Jilly Goolden, changed the we we drink. But wine tasting was a skill and hobby he'd developed at Oxford University and he was well on his way to becoming a West End Star when opportunity knocked on the 80s TV show 'Food & Drink' thanks to the television brain of Peter Bazelgette (who later went on to turn Big Brother into an enormous hit). This is a fascinating story, told by one of the great story-tellers. If EVER there was an episode to listen to with a glass of white wine THIS IS IT! Oz's new book A Vine is a Wild Thing is out now! By any measure Jake Humphrey is a High Performer - whether it's his highly accomplished career as a TV presenter, the TV Production company (Whisper) he co-owns with a turnover of £100m+, or the collection of podcasts under the 'High Performance' umbrella. But his story is much more fascinating than most media moguls. Several times he's walked away from the top tier jobs most presenters dream of to spend more quality time with his family. It's only when you chat to Jake that you get a real understanding of the man behind those decisions, who loves to take risks, but seems to win every time. It's a really lovely chat - with an extra special surprise at the end. Cheers! xx Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

How can you NOT be inspired by Billy Monger. In his new book Billy is encouraging young people to find their drive, to challenge themselves and maximise their potential. All from a young man who became a double-amputee just before his 18th birthday, but thanks to his own incredible drive, as well as the love and support of those around was quickly back in a single-seater (he actually got his race licence back just ELEVEN weeks after the accident). His honesty about his accident and his incredible passion for life and adventure are infectious - you absolutely cannot listen to this interview and not feel a new lease of life. What a joy it is to have Reverend Richard Coles back on the podcast. His new book (a novella!) A Carol and a Killing is out now In this chat we talk about his extraordinarily high testosterone count, swearing at bus drivers and getting a dog. None of these were on our list of questions at the start of the conversation. Is that always the best way! Cheers, xx Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We're back! And back with a bang. My Sister's Keeper Small Great Things The Pact Nineteen Minutes These are just some of the massive best-sellers written by my guest in this episode, Jodi Picoult. If you haven't read her books - just consider this; In 2017 Jodi was named in the Top 10 Harvard alumni shaping the world. Some of the other names on the list... Jeff Bezos, Michelle Obama, Eric Schmidt (Then Google's CEO) and Robert Mueller (Director of the FBI). Her books fly off the shelves around the globe - she's sold over 60million copies of her novels. You can order her latest book Hollow Bones here And she's one of my favourite authors. I hope you enjoy this conversation - it's GREAT to be back. Cheers, xx Hosted on Acast.
