Today, the village of Dromcolliher in west Limerick, along with the Taoiseach, will come together to remember the tragedy which befell their community on the 5th of September 1926.150 villagers gathered to watch a film, but a fire swept through the tiny loft that had been set up as a makeshift screening room. In all, 48 men, women and children lost their lives. Gerry Keyes, Chairperson of the Dromcollgher26 group, formed to commemorate the first civil tragedy of the Irish state, joins Pat to discuss.
