Lockdown Exit: Hairdressers And Gyms Could Reopen Next Week
24 November 2020 - 11 minsCabinet ministers met this morning to discuss a phased lockdown exit strategy.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said he wants the country to move to Level 3 restrictions next week. This would allow retail, hairdressers and gyms to reopen, with restaurants to follow the week after.
People will also be allowed to visit their family members at Christmas, and travel anywhere in the country will be permitted.
Daniel McConnell, political editor of the Irish Examiner, and Dr Tomás Ryan, Associate Professor in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology at TCD, joined us to discuss the plan and the impact it could have.
