Housing Minister To Ban Co-Living Developments
23 November 2020 - 14 minsMinister for Housing Darragh O'Brien has introduced a ban on new co-living developments.
He expressed concern about the number of units in the pipeline and their planned locations as well as the pressure they could put on land prices.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin previously warned that such developments, in which residents have their own room but share a kitchen and other communal facilities, could become "glorified tenement living".
The Minister joined us on The Last Word to discuss the ban.
