BTL | Countdown To UFC 332, Underwhelming Fury vs. Joshua Presser, Fight News

UFC 332 heads to Salt Lake City on Saturday, and while the promotional buzz for the event is at all-time lows, UFC CEO Dana White's performance on Thursday put it over the top with his lack of enthusiasm, and knowledge of the fighters competing — most notably, Wang Cong. So, if the face of the promotion doesn't have tremendous enthusiasm, why should you? Luckily for you, we're here like we always are. Ahead of UFC 332, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Jed Meshew preview the card, the main event for the vacant flyweight title between Cong and Natalia Silva, and both no-selling Valentina Shevchenko throughout the build. Additionally, they'll discuss White's horrible week, the co-main event between Payton Talbott and Deiveson Figueiredo, the former flyweight champion's fight week comments calling out Joshua Van and saying Talbott is one of the easier fights in the division, King Green vs. Esteban Ribovics, and more. UFC 332 is here with the fight everyone has been waiting for … Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong for the vacant women’s flyweight title? On Saturday, Silva and Wang face off for the belt vacated earlier this year by long-time champion Valentina Shevchenko after an injury prevented her from defending the title at this event. Now, Silva and Wang have the opportunity to fight for a UFC title, but also the burden of making people care about a belt that doesn’t exactly feel like the real one. On the latest episode of No Bets Barred, host Jed Meshew flies solo to dive into the latest numbered event from the UFC, which falls short based on the standard of PPV events, but looks to be a solid Fight Night card. Topics discussed included Wang’s chances of pulling off the upset and adding some spark to the women’s flyweight division, the plethora of sacrificial uncs on this card, a new start to The Climb, and more. Tune in for episode 166 of No Bets Barred. Raul Rosas Jr. got the victory in his first ever UFC headliner, but it was not in the way he would've liked as Barcelos suffered a medical issue in the fifth round that led to him getting stretchered out of the octagon, leaving fans wondering what happened. While we still don't have the answer to that question, and at least know Barcelos is recovering, where does Rosas go from his sixth straight win? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck gives his thoughts on what could be next for the 21-year-old bantamweight contender. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Ailin Perez following her decision win against Norma Dumont, Luis Hernandez after his breakout debut showing against Sedriques Dumas, along with TUF Finale winners Ilimbek Akylbeck Uulu and Tina Black, and more. Plus, a plethora of listener picks following the UFC's return to the Meta APEX. Raul Rosas Jr. picked up the win in his first UFC main event despite being down 3-1 on all of the judges' scorecards heading into the final round against Raoni Barcelos. Then, Rosas lands a takedown in the fifth round, and all of a sudden, Barcelos was out cold and not moving to put a big of a frightening cap on one of the best UFC fights of the year. Following Saturday's UFC Vegas 121 card, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Jed Meshew react to the UFC's return to the Meta APEX, Rosas getting the win, the scary ending to the fight, and updates on Barcelos' condition following the main event. Additionally, they'll discuss the lackluster co-main event grudge match between Ailin Perez and Norma Dumont, the scoring of the fight for Perez, Luis Hernandez's breakout performance, other standout moments, the crowning of two new TUF champions — including one by disqualification — and more.
