How bad are hospital waiting lists?

1 September - 22 mins
Podcast Series Lunchtime Live

Hospital waiting lists could pass one million this winter, with medics warning the situation may get even worse next year.

Overall treatment waiting lists have risen by 48,000 in just four months, to almost 991,000, amid staff shortages, recruitment restrictions and a growing population.

Have you been affected by hospital waiting lists? How long have you been waiting, and what needs to be done to bring those waiting times down?

Joining Andrea to discuss is Dr Brian Turner, Health Economist in Cork University Business School in UCC, Bernard Mulvany, Advocate with Access for All Ireland and listeners.
