Podcast Series The Hard Shoulder Highlights

Cabinet has approved new legislation to criminalize the sharing of intimate images of a person without their consent.

Under the new laws, someone may be jailed for up to seven years if they have published abusive material with the intent of causing harm. It comes after thousands of pictures of women and girls were leaked online last week.

Labour Party Justice Spokesperson Brendan Howlin has campaigned on this issue for many years and he joined Mark Cagney to discuss.

TJ McIntyre, Associate professor in the school of law in UCD and Chair of Digital Rights Ireland also joined with his take on this.
