EP 22: Maykay - Fight Like Apes, Foo Fighters And Finding Other Voices
22 October - 1 hour 13 minsDara’s back with another edition of The Greenlight Podcast, and this week he’s joined by the one and only MayKay - Fight Like Apes icon, solo artist, and long-running Other Voices presenter.
They get into the 20-years-later reality of Fight Like Apes: the chaos, the “little gangs” era of the Irish scene, why it all burned so bright, and what the industry didn’t know (or didn’t have) when it came to minding artists properly.
Plus: MayKay on learning how to interview, the art of leaving space, keeping the Foo Fighters secret in Dingle, and why live vocals still matter.
And she shares the work of Irish Artists for Palestine and how musicians can help in a smart, practical way.
Thanks to May...
