Episode 626: Aaron Brady’s capital murder appeal denied

A National Museum worker accused of storing a semtex bomb that was later intercepted while being transported near the border has been granted bail. Simon O’Donovan took the explosive device from his workplace at Collins Barracks museum in Dublin and handed it over to a woman, law student Isobella Perrie Sullivan who was stopped with it in her car in Co. Monaghan later that day, it is alleged. Both have now being granted bail by the High Court despite objections of Gardai. A unique immersive play put on by recovering addicts attending the Soilse service in Dublin is a disturbing but powerful reflection of the effects of drug use and addiction on individuals and their wider families. However, the theatrical performance which takes place over the course of a journey from Dublin’s Blessington Basin to a mock up crack den also brings a message of hope from those recovering from addition. CAB target Patrick Stokes has been arrested in Australia and charged with the murder of his wife Annemarie O’Reilly. Stokes who led a crime gang in Waterford before moving to Melbourne was near the scene when police discovered the body of Annemarie in the presence of her three year old son. The second-last funeral of the M9 crash teens has been held and mourners heard that what happened was wrong and during which prayers were offered up to the innocent family injured.
