Can You Cycle 200km in 10 Days?
The All -Ireland cycle is a fun and safe way to come together and raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI). The challenge is to cycle 200km between Friday Aug 28th and Sunday Sept 6th, 2020. Can you cycle an average of 20km a day? Prove it! They expect club cyclists to target 450km, so once you get past 200km see how far you can go - every km counts! Your County needs you! They will also create "live" leaderboards to track which County is winning the All Ireland Cycle, so get on your bike to help your County win the bragging rights!! Eamon O`Muircheartaigh physiotherapist and former GAA player is one of the key people involved in the initiative. Anna and Dec caught up with Eamon and also to wish his dad the infamous Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh belated birthday wishes as he turned 90 this week! One Of World's Leading Disability Golfers - Irish Man Brendan Lawlor Looks Ahead To European Tour
Irish sportsman Brendan Lawlor will make history next week as the first disabled golfer to play the European Tour when he tees off in the inaugural ISPS HANDA UK Championship - the final event of the UK Swing - at The Belfry from August 27-30. Currently ranked fourth in the World Rankings for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), the 22-year-old Irishman has also now confirmed Carton House as his new home of golf for the next 12 months as he works to prepare and compete at upcoming tournaments all over the world. Nestled in the heart of 1,100-acres of private parkland in County Kildare, Brendan will have access to two of Ireland’s finest championship golf courses, the classic parkland O’Meara and the inland links Montgomerie, as well as the professional driving range and exceptional leisure and dining facilities of this award winning club. Niall Horan, Brendan’s manager and owner of Modest Golf Management echoed his sentiments. “It’s so good to see such an iconic golf club as Carton House welcome Brendan and promote inclusivity in golf. I’ve always loved Carton House and cannot wait to get down for a game myself with Brendan soon.” Extremely grateful to @CartonHouseGolf for receiving Honary life membership and also can’t wait to make history next week at the @ISPSHanda UK Championship @TheBelfryHotel @EuropeanTour.
