18 February 2020 - 10 minsKel Galavan had been working in the pharmaceutical industry for about 16 years, when the Kildare mother of two decided to quit her job to spend more time with her children.
Kel and her husband were commuting daily from Kildare to Dublin, working long hours and paying a childcare for their children Ria, 9 and Aaron, 6.
Once Kel made the decision to quit her job, she knew she would need to cut back on spending so she devised a strict budget for the year to see if they could survive on one salary, having relied on two for so long.
